A New Spin

A new spin on an old standard, the swivel chair interpreted by architect Joseph D’Urso. The King of High Tech in the 70’s, he returned to partner with Knoll on a collection of lounge seating in 2008. Maintaining his minimalist aesthetic, these swivel chairs feature a 360 degreed swivel mechanism and an optional height adjusting hydraulic for maximum flexibility. With a dizzying assortment of Knoll textile options and 3 base finishes you’re bound to strike the perfect complimentary note to your interior. While I love these in the playful brights, I’m personally leaning toward a classic black frisee’ upholstery with the polished aluminum base. While swivel lounge chairs are having a moment, this is a great one to consider. All that’s missing is an Old Fashioned.

Start Small

While it’s been increasingly difficult to find that perfect piece of vintage classic Mid Century furniture you’ve been lusting after, now’s the perfect time to just cut to the chase. you might ask to forgo the chocolates…the expensive evening out…the case of Veuve and wait a few more days for the annual Knoll sale. An investment in something from the Knoll Classics collection is sure to make your heart skip a beat or two. If you’re lucky enough to have a vintage piece in need of a recover, you might consider a few yards from their extensive textile collection.

On your bucket list of things you’d like to see or do, can there be room for those things you’d like to have? I’m thinking yes. Like the Mies Van der Rohe Barcelona Couch. A classic. And, simply one of the most beautiful pieces of modern furniture produced. Even with the Knoll Classics Sale going on now this piece is still a major investment. Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet.
