Marsala ( a swing and a miss )

December 18, 2014

I’ll take a lump of coal over Pantone’s color of the year for 2015 any day. Marsala. Really? If they would have called it what it looks like, raw liver, my guess is that the people at Pantone would have gone in a different direction entirely. Picture receiving a cashmere sweater or scarf in this color next Christmas…after a year of this showing up on everything from coffee mugs to automobiles ( if their forecast is correct ). Ugh. Or, is it just me?

it is ugh and I’ve already seen it crop up in a few places. I think you and I should decide the trends – charcoal, charcoal and more charcoal 🙂

This color, or something close to it, is probably in every room in my house. From Oriental carpets, to Killims, to the lacquered boxes I hauled back from Asia, even the stripes in the blanket I made that now lives on my bed … it is my “red”.

So, there you have it. Not ugly to me at all. 😉

Mmmm, it will be interesting to see how it takes over our life. I think it can work nicely with a few colors like very dark gray.

    Yes……totally agree.

Hmmm, can’t say that I’ll be using this one very much. Not my fav at all.
