I’m feeling like…

a little Danish. A single selection or a few easy pieces by master of mid-century Danish Modern, Finn Juhl would satisfy that craving. Moving into the new year you might find yourself looking to simplify things as well, and the 57 Sofa, a 45 chair, the Finn Juhl Bench and Sideboard would outfit a room beautifully with s single stroke. I’d definitely favor walnut as my wood selection with neutral leather and textiles for the upholstery. It doesn’t get any more simplequietmodern than this.

…you could design just one good chair in your life… But you simply cannot”. Apparently, when Hans Wegner spoke those words in 1952 he was right, designing over 500 chairs in the course of his lifetime. We are all familiar with some, as they have become icons of mid twentieth century Danish design. Others never got past the prototype stage, until now. In celebration of his 100th birthday, PP Mobler has re-issued a collection of Mr. Wegner’s best known designs, as well as a few that were never produced. You could base an entire project around these two.

What other choice is there? When Santa is done with his marathon trip around the globe on Christmas Eve, he should be coming home to this…the Ch 410 Heritage Lounge Chair and Ottoman designed by Fritz Henningsen. And, in red mohair velvet from Donghia with walnut legs, this early Danish Modern design from 1930 will have Santa relaxing stylishly well into 2030. Maybe you need to add this to your Christmas wish list. Have you been this good?
