Boing!

It’s official…it’s Spring! While the threat of a Nor’easter is still possible and a chill remains in the air there is no looking back. It’s time to grab hold of some Spring and not let go until June. I’m not sure where I’m going to start but I’ve squirreled away some inspiration to help get me started . How ’bout you?
Top to bottom:
A fresh bottle of Simple Green and stack of clean cloths…on your mark, get set…clean.
A handful of parrot tulips will not only freshen things up, they might trigger reading The Tulip by Anna Pavord.
Now is the perfect time to add a new tool to your gardening arsenal. Maybe this hand rake to get into those tight spots. http://www.shopterrain.com/new-arrivals-garden-plants/sneeboer-hand-leaf-debris-rake
Asparagus…grilled as a side or maybe in a risotto.
Simple bowls of forced rye grass and undyed eggs…the simplequietmodern way to decorate for this weekends Easter brunch.

January…a good time to
January 13, 2014
clean out, edit, get rid of the old…create a place for the new. It might even help ease some physical congestion if you release some congestion within your home or work environment. My mantra is simple; If you haven’t used (or even looked at) something in the last year…it’s time to let it go. In the process, you might even find a gift card or two that you had put away for safe keeping but had gotten lost in all of the clutter. In the end of this exercise you’ll have space…room to breathe..maybe a few extra bucks. Not to mention a stack of empty corrugated boxes to recycle or ? Now inhale…hold it…

Clean Sweep
April 3, 2012
Spring cleaning can mean a lot of things. To me it means an opportunity to get ruthless…make a positive impact. Really, people, clean windows are nice but I’m talking about all of that stuff you refuse to tackle. Go on…open that closet…step into that basement or garage. If you see something that you haven’t touched, used or even thought of in the last year….well…it’s gone! Simple. Get rid of anything ( everything ) that hasn’t fulfilled it’s purpose or usefulness in the last 12-24 months. After the first couple items (or panic attack) you’ll see how easy it is…how much spaced you’ve gained and, if you’ve passed it on for re-use by another…how good you feel. Now, take a deep cleansing breath. Done.
