Apparently, It’s On
November 17, 2019
Just into November and most of the country has been dumped on or been hit with an Arctic Blast. Is it just that Mother nature has a warped sense of humor or was it the early release of Heath Ceramic’s 2019 Winter Seasonal Collection that got things rolling? There’s no holding back now, the Holidays are here. Unofficially to be sure, but, they’re here. Might as well start bringing out the lights, developing a decorative plan for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and the rest of the Winter Holidays and start testing out a new recipe or two. And, shopping? Let’s start that list as well…perhaps with the Heath Ceramics Winter Seasonal Collection of limited edition offerings and finishes. New glazes like Zinc, Penny Green and Sand and Sea seem to mimic nature and have been applied to classic Heath favorites like the Bud vase, Tall Modern Cup, Plaza Trays and the Deep Salad Bowl making easy work of selecting a gift for yourself, someone special or serving up something tasty to family and friends.

And, The Living Is Easy
June 30, 2019
Summer…time for backyard gatherings with family and friends, simple suppers of a quick grill and a side and lighter lunches. This simple pasta salad will have you covered all around with only four ingredients and the little time it takes to cook and cool a pound of pasta. This 4th might just be the perfect time to take this recipe for a spin.
Cook 1 lb. of bite sized pasta per package directions. When there are 2 minutes left to the cook time, add 1 1/2 cups frozen peas. When done, drain pasta and peas and cool, then mix in 1 cup Mayo and 2/3 cup grated Parmesan. Finish with a few good grinds of black pepper. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Really, that’s it. Done.
The original recipe found here https://food52.com/recipes/58684-parmesan-pea-pasta-salad, called for any bite-sized pasta. I love Orchietti and the way it cups the peas and cheese so that’s what I use. This salad is also a great starting point should you want to add in additional items to make it a complete meal on its own, like roasted red peppers, kalamata olives and tuna.

In the beginning…
May 25, 2019
it started with a few random planks and a view. When he envisioned a piece of seating from which to enjoy a drink and take in the lake view at his cottage in Westport, New York, I’m not sure Thomas Lee knew what was about to happen. Over 100 years later his original Westport Adirondack Chair is still going strong. Countless variations over the decades have brought us back to Lee’s original design painstakingly recreated in recyced materials by Loll, making it even more modern. And, just in time for Summer it’s on sale and available in 9 colors…neutral, classic or bright. Who knew 328 recycled milk jugs could look so good?

Into The Woods
May 20, 2019
To the beach…up North…or, to the shore. What does getting away this holiday weekend mean to you? To me, it’s simply enjoying a bit of peace and quiet. And, what could be more peaceful and quiet than this little black box of a retreat tucked neatly into the woods? Minimalist charred exterior, natural wood interior and every room with a view. Lovely.
